I want to know your opinion on Yoshi's Story. Is it a must buy? Or I want a VC game so lets just buy this one? Or no? Personally I think it's a Must buy but I want to know other opinions.Yoshi Story?

I'm about to buy a copy of the system. But theres something i need to check with first. My friend said to check for the version and check for the Serials. Yeah, it's great that companies can use their own servers. But I just don't like Nintendo's way of handling online. They are so paranoid about ''the chidren being raped by 30 years old maniacs that play the Wii'' Look at the random match option for Brawl. No battle scores registered, you can't see the name of your oponents, you can't send them taunts (that's rediculous, how can I know someone's adress with a phrase like ''bring it on''). And why do both have to register each other's FC, that's just a pain in the....Well, that's my rent. But ohter than that IT'S A GREAT CONSOLE!!!

I think they're afraid someone will throw cuss words in the taunts or sneak their friend code in there.

Is MySims really that bad?-not a recomme ...

For a sims game, or any game in general, a rating in the 6's is weak.... Before its release dates it was one of my few anticipated game, it looked like a unique, nice idea that could further evolve the wii aswell as introduce the sims game to the wii... I though it looked great and i was really looking forward to it... So my only question is, is it really that bad that gamespot would rate it in the 6's, or is it just one of their harsh ratings? By the way, please dont lock this up because this isnt a recommendation, its a question.... Thnx in advance... Please answer soon b/c i might get it tomorrow based on other player opinions...

I don't always trust random third parties making things for the consoles; they never seem to work right (ie: Datel's WiFi dongle and the 3rd party memory cards I used to buy for GC and PS1).Just my opinion.

I say buy rechargebles. That is what I did when I got the Wii last year. I bought the Energizer 2500 mAh NiMH batteries with the charger and it works great. I payed like 20 for it and got 4 2500 nAh batteries and the wall charger and I shed out another 10 for 8 more of the 2500 nAh batteries. So now I always have batteries for the Wii :-). Energizer rechargeables are the way to go. Thats what I use and I only recharge maybe once every 2 to 3 weeks. I have two sets I just swap back and forth.
That's what my original plan was, but about half the time, I go to put in a set of batteries that I previouslycharged, and they don't have any charge left, so I have to throw them back in the charger. After I try two or three sets of dead rechargable batteries, I just put a set of alkalines in because I know they'll have a full charge. I probably don't play as much Wii as a lot of people, so my charged batteries can sit in the 'good' bin for a long time.
You're better off with re-chargeable battereis. When they run out of charge, just pop them in the charger, take a 15 minute Wii-Break, and you're good to go. Plus they're easy to replace, I'm sure you would have to buy that unit again if the battery loses it's charge over time.

What nintendo needs to do is take what random smash battles is currently, and make that what random smash battles is for anyone with the parental blocks on. Otherwise, flash out the online and give us an expirience, not a seatbelt.
Maybe it enters their name automatically after you both each other's friend codes. The way I interpreted it was that you could add them if they are in your Wii adress book.
What they should add IMO:1)Showing who you playing against, even if it's random.2) Names instead of friend codes. Imagine you entering a room and people screaming:''OMG ITS 450234827397 !!!!! HES PRO''3) As said in 2, people screaming....any kind of chat is fine. maybe only when waiting for game to start, so it doesn't become chaotic.4)A way to add someone after a match.5) A room system. Something like gunbound or such. You create a room with the rules you want, the stage you want, with/without pass and number of players.6) tournaments hosted by nintendo. No need for prizes, just recognition. Like a medal or such.7)Ranked matches8 )A way to prevent people from leaving in the mid of a match.9)Parental control used to it's maximumthat's all i can think for now. these would greatly improve online experience.

Thought I'd express this thought [mainly ...

After reading some of the boards on this forum, I find it interesting and amusing what many people have had to say about the newly introduced wi-fi post on smash dojo. I can see how people want features such as ranking system and voice chat. I can see how people don't want such things because of the potential problems that it can create. But y'all have to remember that this is just the basis of the wi-fi posts. As Sakauri said, ''We're planning a number of services that make use of Wi-Fi, but we'll reveal them gradually with the other modes.'' Yes I know that everyone is entitled to his/her own opinions, but I think that until we know all the details about the wi-fi services for brawl, don't make such extreme opinions. And yes, not everyone is going to like everything about the wi-fi, but remember that it is step above melee and maybe it won't be the last that we see. The series has improve, and nothing is ever perfect. But seeing improvements and additions to meet the general public has to give some satisfaction to the people that play the games of the franchise. ever since they announced brawl i was extremely excited because I love the ssb series.(tell you the truth I dont own any of them but I played in friends houses+borrowed melee from a friend for a while so yeah)I remember the first time I played super smash bros. on n64...good times... uh..anyways the fact that they said it would have online was even better. but after a while without any news of the online itcaused rumours to spread about whether it would have online or not. Of course, I would but the game regardless of online play, but the fact that it was officialy announced makes the game all the better:D cant wait till it comes out so i can have a blast with it! (onlines great and all, but nothing beats playing with your friends in the room, to have fun, share laughs...and total pwnage)Brawl Online!

my birthday is at the end of the month, and i'm thinking of possibly asking for a wii, but since i already have ps3 and 360, i wanted to know if you think it's worth it. games i'd get are zelda and metroid for now, then re4 and super paper mario in the future. what do you think? should i get a wii if i already have ps3 ...
and then mario galaxy, smash bros, batalion wars 2 , final fantasy, fire emblem, resident evil umbrella, no more heroes, mario kart, disaster, sadness, tales of symphonia 2, dragon quest, nights, zack and wiki, medal of honour heroes, man hunt 2some great exclusives coming :)should i get a wii if i already have ps3 ...
yes get a Wii and take a look at dewy's adventure while your at it.
wii already has a lot of awesome games like zelda,super paper mario,resident evil 4 and metroid and as you may know in the following months wii will get a lot of great games like smash bros and galaxy,resident evil,zack and wiki,endless ocean and a lot more.get it if you want to play something diferent,fresh and new and to play all the awesome game it has.
I think you can experience nearly all the best of what this gen has to offer with just a 360and Wii. Since you've already got a PS3 you might as well hang on it to it if the big two are that important to ya. But you definetly shouldn't pass up the Wii.

I have a PS3, XBox 360, and Wii, and I love them all! Each one is very unique and worth owning! I'd say go for it, get a Wii. You won't regret it!

The 360 and PS3 are easily comparable, but the Wii is totally different. OP, I really think you should get a Wii, especially considering you already seem to know what games you want.

i have a 360 and just got a wii a week ago. i got MP3 with it. i also just bought bioshock for the 360. i barely even cracked bioshock and stopped playing and cant put down MP3. the controlling is hard to get used to but once you do its real fun. i say get a wii.

Sadly, this annoucnemtn of ssb online is the most ice cold annoucnmetn from nintnedo I've ever gotten.

Today's update on the Smash Bros. Dojo was a few screens of what to expect from the Wi-Fi mode. The only reason I am posting this is because some people still had doubts of whether it would be included. Well, put those doubts to rest, as we can play SSBB with friends and the World. There's two good reasons why it is was possible to make to such a great trailer:1) This game is developed by Sega of Japan, not that damned Sonic Team2) Shigeru Miyamoto is supervising this game. Without either of the two above and if Sonic Team were to develop this, I can assure youthat this game would've sucked from the beginning. :wink:

There are more games being announced for the wii all the time just be patient. You don't want to kick yourself in the head when you sold the console when such a games come out because the wii will be next to impossible to find then.

Because the wii demand will increase drastically during the holiday end of the year season. Also when a highly anticipated game comes out console sales do tend to increase because some people only buy a console when a preset number of games they want comes out.

You could say it's garbage but you can't deny if it has a good marketing planwell, Wii Fit will help to sell more Wiis to more non-gamers. Prepare for another shortage very soon. Wii Fit is coming next year but at the end of the year in Japan. I think Super Mario Galaxy and Super Smash Bros Brawl will help to sell more consoles this holidays.

Hi - I just got the Wii for my BF ... I thought it would be a nice 30th Bday gift. HE is a big football fan, and I bought the NFL 2007 game on sale, and this site gives it a better rating... but I can't help but think that the 2008 one is better? Thoughts? I preo-ordered this game and didn't get the call from GameStop, which is weird I guess since it comes out today. Are you sure it's no longer coming out next week? I was kinda excited to walk into GameStop on the 25th and ask for my pre-order only to be handed Halo 3 by accident. I would have felt so cool saying, ''No, I pre-ordered Dewy's Adventure'' :)

Never preorder from a gamestop brick and mortar. You miss out on the preorder goodies. For instance there is a dewy plush for those who preorder from gamestop, ebgames online. Also you don't have to plunk five or ten dollars.

Any reviews yet? I'm on the fence with this game.
I just payed full price and bought it on the spot today and nothing was mentoined about the plushie since the guy didn't even know what the game was I wasn't even going to bother asking about the plushie i'll ask about it tomorrow when I pick it up. There is one review from NGamer UK that gives it a 65 but i'm not going to base it off that review especially since it's UK and I don't know what NGamer is. Also Famitsu gave it a 31/40 and Famitsu > NGamer.
I'm waiting for reviews... I am looking forward to too many new Wii titles coming out soon, and I won't have the time to devote to this game unless it gets 8.0 or higher.

It would basically be the same except to aim where you throw Pikmin you would point at the screen, which I think would work better. Also, one of the strong points of Pikmin in my opinion is it's pretty graphics, which couldn't be done on the DS.

cmon guys i posted the exact same post like a week ago with a poll and it only had 3 replies! i wasted a poll! anyhow, it would be cool if it came with some sort of whistle or something to attacth to your top part of the wiimote and every time you wanted to blow the whistle you would life the wiimote and blow the whistle while using the nunchuck to move the whistle circle rang around to get the pikmin to come back and obey you... plus new pikmin would be nice, like orange or something... how bout black that endures a cosmo element?

Super Smash Bros Brawl Internet Clan!!!!

I think this is a good Online Solution for people who are bumed about limitations.Ok, im not really bumed the least bit about the limitations. Only thing i cared about was 4 player brawls which they have. Glad theres no leaderboard cause that promotes cheating and crap when im not really a competitive person. Anyways....

I decided that im gonna start a clan on the internet. For Super Smash Bros. Everyone can exchange FC's when game releases and me and other mods will set up tourneys and what not. Basically im gonna start an online community for Brawl. So i wanna know what you all think. Also i started forums for now we can just talk about game till released. Ironfist Dojo

According to Iwata in the ''Wii Sports 2'' article it is indicated that the cooking, and brain training games are being sidelined. ''Iwata notes that it isn't only a Wii Sports sequel that is being put on the back burner. According to the Nintendo exec, the similarly popular Nintendo genres of brain-training and cooking games are being sidelined in favor of new types of titles.'' If this is true, it seems to indicatet that Nintendo, once they have gotten some good casuel games out there, are going to start focusing on more traditional gaming expierences. (often called ''hardcore'' games, but that is kinda a misnomer, so traditional gaming fits it better). Yay! More Metriods, and less Cooking Mamas!It makes sense if you think about it. They boost the first sales with a couple of good easy games. Then the casuals (who can play thousands of games of bejewled and not get bored) will stop getting quite as many games and they will turn up the heat on more traditional gameplay. Woohoo. Of course Nintendo could mean by ''new games'' that they are just going to start trying new genres. Then again, anything but a cooking mama is a good thing. But aside from ''casual'' games and traditional games I don't know what they would do. The most promising part of that article is that Nintendo is doing so well that they can afford to take risks. They don't need to get the guaranteed top-sellers out as soon as possible any more. Hopefully this allows their creative talent to really open up and deliver some fresh stuff. There's bound to be some crap in there, unfortunately, but I don't doubt that something great will come of it.

It states that they don't want to make sequel upon sequel, but it doesn't say they are getting into hard core gaming again. That's more of a statement made by the origianl poster of this thread. Technically, Nintendo has always wanted to try to further the gaming industry, so chances are they are working on new genres of games. Or new ideas of game control with the new hardware that will spark new genres of games throughout other developers. Being casual or hardcore really isnt the point of this article, it's the sequels and newness of new ideas.

It's been like 10 months since the release of the wii. I know it is still sold out in most places but are people actually still lining up for Wiis still? Because that would be crazy. 
When I got my wii (launch) no one (who were not in line) knew what the wii was. They were like ''Are you guys waiting for the PS3?'' And we would say ''no the nintendo wii'' and they would say ''Whats that?''

There are no more lines I believe but the Wii is still unavailable for the most part since they fly off the shelves like hot cakes when a shipment comes in. Now I know that Nintendo did up shipments recently but thats to be expected since were roundin the corner to the holiday season. I think that since demand is still pretty high, were probably going to see lines for it again round Thxgiving here in the U.S. and then Xmas time everywhere else.
I've waited about 2 hours before Toys R' Us opening at mid july. 30 Wiis, 30 ppl in line.

Virtual Console or Real Console ?

What do you think about gettin old games via virtual console, or get the originals for a little more money ? i live in mexico, i own the snes, nintendo 64, gamecube and the wii... ive' downloaded some old games from the nes, snes and genesis.. but for the other hand, i have like 8 games of snes, and 10 games of the 64... all of my nintendo sytems work fine, in fact i change the joystick of the 64 control for a new one, and revived my old system..
my point is, is it better to have it all in the wii, or should i spend 20 or 30 dls for snes games that i want, in their original plattform ?

ideas, toughts and everything else are welcome

i know what you are saying, because i love the old nostalgic feel that the snes, 64 have... the only two systems i would buy is the nes, sega and turbografx... but.. for example i dont know what to decide.. my tv only have one component.. and i havce tu unplugged the audio/video, for the snes, 64, and wii, and that is like ooh whats on ? the wii.. lets play it.. kind of lazy i know
but for example if i had games like donkey kong country, in the wii i would play more that games.. and the real carttridges only for nostalgia or collection i guess..

Personally, I would go for the Virtual Console. The fact is, that it's convienent. Your games are stored on a card that is not much larger than the size of a stamp and you have it all on one console.

You have all those consoles hooked up to one t.v.? That must take up a lot of space! And do you have to unplug and plug cables every time you want to play a different console? That just sounds insanely inconvenient. I'd go VC.

Well, if it weren't for the virtual console, I would have never played Super Metroid. I think Real Console may be better since you get to use the original controller, but VC is fine by me. Now, when can I expect Contra Hard Corps. for the Sega Genesis, my Sega doesn't work anymore and I don't know where the cartridge is. :(

I prefere real consoles and game. You get artwork etc., and its neat. But in Europe we get games that were never released, so we got SMBLL and mario picross which is what the Wii is for. Also we havent got a turbografix in PAL territory, so its good to play it on the Wii's VC.
both have their faults,. i actually like both ,ill start by explaining why its good or bad to use a consolegood, your already familiar with consoles controller, you already own it , no need to dl anything good for collectionsthe bad part , hooking and unhooking of multiple consoles cartridges can wear out, (ive went through 10 copies of goldeneye 4 of pd 2 turoks , etc ) the cost of a cartridge can cost over what the vc costs for the same game ex, all n64s on vc so far have been 10 $ super mario 64 at a store would cost me no more then 20$ that is 10 $ more some times i can get a good deal but like i said some times its more expensive especally for titles like goldeneye or perfectdark and its also harder now to find anything if your not into auction sites like ebaythe virtual consolegoods.. well never break . good prices sometimesbetter then retail , samegamejust different format , noneeds to unhook and hook up multiple consoles and good for those whocant find theold systemsespecally tg16those are rare as heck , the bads, the download times suck for n64 games ,unfamiliar with the controller at first, no valuemeaning you wont get no $ for selling the wiivc games hence the impossibility , and thats pretty much it , they both tome are great, id also like to add that some games have not been released like goldeneye
For the most part, I lean towards real console. I like breaking out my NES, SNES, and N64 to play my old games. But I also like the convenience of the VC. As a college student, I have a limited number of items to bring to school with me. With the Wii and VC, I can play 20+ years of games in one small housing unit. I especially like not having to worry about whether or not my game saves will have been dropped by an old battery or if the cartridge will turn on after all those years of use.

My first blog explains why I am getting all the old games. I'm thankful for the virtual console.
I'll always say real console for a few reasons.1. I've got a TV that has oodles of inputs on it so I can hook up like over a half-dozen consoles on it and put them in a rack.2. I'm a collector and I like having all the original boxes, manuals, discs, catridges etc.3. I'm a bigtime SEGA fan and no Wii controller is well suited for SEGA games. The old school controller is modeled after the nintendo controller (for obvious reasons of course) and I'd just rather play on a 3 or 6 button Genesis controller.4. Unless you're talking rare games, the hard copies of games are a lot of times cheaper than they are in the VC, at least in my area of classic gaming...I've not done much research on resell value of ninty stuff.To answer your question about a source selector, I've got one by Psyclone model# PSC01. ally they did notice it. It's the reason for the delay. When you add multiple languages to a game you can cause logic errors due to missing or erroneous text. When they were under the delay some programmer forgot to fix the bug. Due to Euro trade laws every game has to have several languages on it. This delays games quite considerbly because due to the potential of bugs being introduced whenever a language is put onto the game. Doesn't matter when even 20 years ago this caused enourmous problems. It's not a size issue it's just plain and simple programming. People honestly have no idea what goes into localization of a game. It's often one of the most costly and time consuming part of bringing over a game. Some teams are 20 people for just one language and the game could take over a year. It's sometimes much easier to build a new game then localize it. As for glitchy game releaseshappens to every company. Quite a number of PS2 games got very severe glitches and had to be exchanged. The recent Guilty Gear release in Japan for example. Several xbox games, several pc and even several xbox 360 games have had bigger game breaking bugs.Most people never encounter bugs like this one because they don't do what the minority does. Most people found the key, didn't talk to mimi they used the key bypassing the glitch. Same with the cannon room in tp in the US. Most people didn't save in that area nor the testers so they didn't encounter the glitch that killed progress.

thinking about getting rid of my wii

i've had my wii since launch and it has done nothing but dissapoint me until now. I'm fed up with nintendo, they have abandoned me. I was hoping for a consistent flow of quality games. I'm still hyped for ssbb and smg but beyond that, the wii just seems a bore to me. And with the gimped online in ssbb, i can even live to skip that. I really don't wanna give up on the wii, but at the same time i don't wanna waste my time and get rid of it later while i can only get like 100 bucks. I really just want my wii for the nintendo exclusives and the local multiplayer games but with my 64 and gcube, i think i can fufill these needs, not to mention my 360. Is there anything coming down the road for me? I want something that i can enjoy with my friends, like the good old days of n64, i got my 360 for everything else. Am i forgetting some games or should i just get rid of my wii? Thanks in advance for any response.thinking about getting rid of my wii

i bought a wii in april (UK) and sold it in august...the console is great make no mistake but everyday you here these amazing games coming on other consoles and for the wii ''party games'' or ''carnival games'' before i was going to sell mine i got convinced to keep because ''the best is coming'' then i saw a new release for the wii......another set of party games.....that was the final punch it went on ebay the next day IMO sell it
Pretty much the 360s the Gamers house right now. The Wii has games mainly you would play with your mom or dad. Nintendo has left their hardcore gamers. Just look at their new releases coming out and compair it to the 360 if you like.
Rayman Raving Rabbids was good and this fall Rayman Raving Rabbids 2 is coming out. You also have Mario Kart Wii coming out early next year and that is a great local multiplayer game. Not to mention it will be online as well. I say hold on to the Wii. But that is my opinion. I think that now since the Wii has been out 10 plus months that developers that were slow to develop for the Wii will soon be developing some good games for it instead of ports. Oh yeah before I forget RE:UC and Ghost Squad should be awesome as a local multiplayer game.
Wait for Mario Galaxy before you sell it. If you don't like the game (which I really think you will), sell it then instead. There are a lot of people out there waiting for this game, so I bet the release of Mario Galaxy could help you getting your Wii sold.

If you have an apple laptop with an airport card built in, you can go into the internet settings and set the computer as an output station for wireless connections. All you have to do is plug in your ethernet cable and turn on the output signal. Is There Anyother Way To Get Online?
You can get a wii lan adapter if you have a wired connection in your house. The wi-fi usb adapter goes into your computer and creates a wireless access point for your wii. I've had some trouble with that though, as the wii connects to the usb adapter but still wont connect to the internet, although I have tried almost everything. The lan adapter is asafe choice.
The USB WiFi adapter is like a dumbed down wireless router.If you're not allowed wireless where you are then you have to go with the LAN adapter and have it wired.If you have the choice you wont find a better way to connect other then the wireless router. In my opinion it's silly to spend that much just to get the Wii online when for the same money you can connect everything you own wired or wirelessly with a wireless router.Connecting Wii, DS, PS2, PS3, XBOX, 360, PSP, Desktop PC, Laptop > Wii

OMG...I used the Photo Channel

I had not used it in the 9 months I've had my Wii and never thought I would. But...I just got back from vacation and realized that the Photo Channel would be awesome to show friends my...shock...photos. It works spectacularly well.I took over 400 pics during the week and that saved me a crapload of money in developing. Just this past saturday after my brothers b-day which resulted in a lot of drunk people, me and some friends were the last ones up editing a bunch of the pics from the party. The next morning resulted in quite a few laughs. If you have an SD card it's easy as hell to put it in and get to the pics, and the doodling part can be fun as more than one person can edit at once. I just wish their were more options than what's there. There are only so many times you can get a laugh out of putting sunglasses on people.

Wii crashing on super paper mario

Just got the UK version of super paper mario and about 3 hours in i'm going after the 3rd heart. When I get to the elders mansion a maid tells mario to check all the rooms. After i've cleared all the rooms I go to speak to her again and the system locks up. I've reset a few times and still get the same problem. Has any one else seen this?Wii crashing on super paper mario

I bought an SD card a while back... what's the point of it? I copied over all my VC games on there and then I couldn't play them anymore. So whats the point of getting one?SD card

nintendo dont give you unlimited storage, if you run out of internal flash memory then you can delete a game then download it again at a later date, all nintendo do is keep a log file of what youve downloaded they prob assign about 2mb of log file per wii
Unless you really, really like looking at pictures, there isn't much point right now since it only serves as a backup storage. I've got about 20 blocks on my Wii (my blocks left is all RED, like a warning), and if that's what you mean, I don't find it to be a satisfactory solution. With as many channel ''slots'' as there are available on the Wii interface, it's obvious that Nintendo intented for you to fill them, but the storage is quite insufficient at this time. To the OP: I have no idea, but I've been wondering the same thing since I bought a 2 gig SD card for my Wii. So far it's been pointless except for backing up game saves. I wish games would come out with the ability to save straight to the SD card so I could have more space on the internal flash memory.

I don't see Nintendo doing anything about this for a long time. This has been a complaint since the VC started releasing games and Nintendo hasnt don squat.

well, i was thinking of the game being like 10 or at its most 25 dollars extra and like guitar hero come with a big sniper accessory and, well thats the point i dont mean a sniper like the arcades, i mean like if it was halo but you gotta keep a distance, obviously move at your own will and thts wat makes it different, and maybe have a small support gun, etc...i actually think its a good idea but well, might never happen :( ~dreams~
Since you have master chief as your avatar i'm gonna guess you have a 360. GRAW and Rainbow6 Vegas have great opportunites for sniping. if you're looking for it on wii then hopefully the new medal of honor should. of course you won't be sniping all the time, but the times that you can, it is very satisfying.

What is the point of putting VC Games on a SD Card if you can't play it from the SD card? VC on SD Whats the point?

Well, the Wii doesn't work online at my college (hacked the network and tried, created quite a panic at the school when all went to hell :P), so I only have internet access with the Wii if I go home for the weekend. So I could store VC games on my SD card and switch games to and from the system.

Think of it almost like a memory card. If you fill your Wii's 512MB hard drive, you can put other VC games onto it so you have more space. You could always delete the game and download it again when you wanted it, but this way you can avoid having to download it again.-Ziggy

call me lazy if you want, i don't care. It'd be easy to add a security code or something similar to cut down piracy. the thing is that it would take user friendliness up a notch. and its amazing to me that people just don't get it. like coming up with something better than the friends code.

Nintendo always made their own show. But it's been awhile we didn't see a SpaceWorld. Also, there's the E for All coming in October. Nintendo will be pratically alone with some 3rd party in the show. Sony and Microsoft won't be there.
