Third Party Support -- What The Hell! (S ...

Well, its almost been a full year since the Wii has launched (about 1 month and a half more i guess). now, what the hell is up with the third party support? Now, many of you know me here as being a fan of the Wii, but honestly, im getting tired of this crap.

I bought a Wii for obviously the Nintendo games, however, that doesnt mean i dont want some good third party games. Here i thought the Wii would get some great exclusive third party games, and i would get a PS3/360 for the rest of the multiplats i want. however, developers have continuously failed to impress me thus far. I know it takes time to make games, but you'd think we'd get something really good from a third party thus far.

I know the year isnt over yet, and yeah, i know zack and Wiki is around the corner, but i need more than just one third party game thats going to wow me.Perhaps 2008 will bring us more good third party titles? i dont know..Hopefully some things at TGS Will prove me wrong, but honestly i've been pretty disappointed by third parties. I honestly dont care what kind of image the game portrays, i just want some good third party titles on my nifty little white box. I know its capable of a lot, i know it can deliver fun, enjoyable new experiences, but why isnt that being done by third parties?

The only third party games that i think are truly good titles for the Wii are Dewy's Adventure, RE:UC, No More Heroes, and Zack and Wiki. Those games are exactly the type of support the Wii needs, it just needs more of it. I hope TGS Can prove me wrong, with more KH announcements, No More heroes playable, King Story gameplay footage, and the Capcom event following TGS.anyway, i know this might be more of a blog thing, but i wanted to see what my fellow Wii fans thought about it.

Do you agree or disagree with me? Do Third parties need to step up their game, and realize the Wii can be a great platform to develop for? I know they might think their games wont sell, but hell, if their good, they will -- just look at RE4: Wii Edition. Third Party Support -- What The Hell! (S ...
I can think of plenty. 08 is still fuzzy but not this year.Third Party Support -- What The Hell! (S ...

I can only think of a couple i would actually consider buying this year. Zack and Wiki and RE:UC. RE:UC im still skeptical about, but im a RE fan, so i'll probably end up getting it. I just feel that they could do so much more with the Wii, yet day in and day out we see announcments of new games..., but none are really exciting, new games.

2008 is really 'blank' for the Wii. Besides No More Heroes, and MK:Wii, and King Story, i cant really think of anything else confirmed.
Don't worry, we aren't the only one who see the Wii's sales. Devs see them too.
I'm not getting any 3rd party games this year, except maybe MoH2. Until 3rd parties give me something that at least looks appealing, I'm not going to even look at the games.

but so far with the sales they give us more casual stuff like fitness games or like 'SmartyPants' -- Hopefully that trend changes.

Wii is getting a lot of good third party support I think, but not so much in the way of big name titles from the more well known companies. No one has ventured to bring over a main franchise, or tried to create a new big franchise on the Wii really. I think we'll see a trend soon of more ''serious'' endevours being announced by larger companies soon, definitely by Jan and Feb of next year we'll see stronger support.
In 2008, there'sTales of Symphonia: Knight of Ratastok
Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Crystal Bearers
No More Heroes
King Story
Civilization Revolution
Mushroom Men
the Vanillaware game
Shiren 3
Eternity's Childthat are confirmed.

Ah. That makes me feel much better. I've been wanting more RPGs on the Wii, plus civilization revolutions going to be awesome.. forgot about some of those.

You forgot to Mention Manhunt 2 and MoH:H2
You forgot to Mention Manhunt 2 and MoH:H2
Manhunt 2 isnt really my cup of tea, and MoH:H2 looks good but it doesnt look like AAA Material to me, which is what im looking for. Plus, its mostly a multiplayer game i believe, single player seems short.

NiGHTS dude, NiGHTS.
I'm happy, I will be busy playing Zack and Wicky, Dewey's Adventure, Battalion Wars Wii, Fire Emblem Radiant Dawn, Super Smash Brothers and Super Mario Galaxy, to even start worrying about 2008.
NiGHTS dude, NiGHTS.
what IS that anyway? I'm curious but not curious enough to read an article. is it like a platformer tihng or something? I know nintendo power had a thing about it but i didn't read it and i've seen it being praised around here and stuff.is there a short way you can exdplain it without me having to do any real research :p

You have to gather X amount orbs in each section to move on. Each time you move on you get more time added to the clock. You're given a letter grade at the end of each section. After you've beaten the sections in that world, you're taken to a boss battle. Once you've beaten the boss you go to the next world if you averaged a C or better in the previous world. At least that's how the original one played. I don't think the devs are deviating too much from that so there you go.I made it sound pretty simplistic but once you get into the levels, they get complicated and you really have to race against the clock to gather the orbs. It becomes frentic and addictive. Once you learn the layout of the levels and you've beaten the game your main replay value is beating your scores and such. You'll get a much better idea of it if you check out a gameplay vid on youtube though.Latah,Dave
