does the Wii have an online community?

first of all , plz dont flame me for this idiotic question

I know absolutely nothing about the Wii(and i mean NOTHING) besides that it has a few of my favorite franchise games on it(zelda,mario,metroid)

Im a pretty hardcore PC gamer, havent really played consoles since the n64/ps1 days, and lately ive been thinking having a powerful PC and Wii is the PERFECT combo for video games, and planing on getting a Wii in the near future

Now my main question is, does the Wii have an online community where u play against other people online and such, and does it have some kind of monthly fee like Xbox live?(mainly looking forward to seeing if i'll be able to play SSBB online with people, i really cant think of too many other Wii games that would be close to as popular as SSBB would be online)Moderator edit: Fixed the censor bypass. You can play online SSBB. The only problem is that you either play your friends, wich you register with 16 digit codes or you play random people without even seeing their names. It's too soon to say more, because not much has been announced but that is what we got for now.does the Wii have an online community?
Is SSB online, and can you play against other people over the 'net? YesIs there an online ''community''? Not really.
I think that only community that the Wii has with its on-line is people trying to exchange friend codes with each other.
