I hope so.Oblivion on wii...
Although I already knew what you said, it could still happen.
Although I already knew what you said, it could still happen.
Anything is possible, but the story was still misleading people to think an Elder scroll game was coming to wii. Game engine =/= game.
Is not going to happen. This may be redundant, but that news article posted a few days ago was misleading a lot of people to think oblivion was coming to wii. The company that developed the game engine used to make oblivion modified their game engine to run on wii. Bethesda, and thei game oblivion have no connection to this other than the company that made the game engine. It does mean however, that other studios can license this new game engine and will produce games with better lighting, and more advanced texture shaders than we have seen yet on wii.
finally some on knows what he is talking about! Everyone keeps saying obliviopn will hit the wii. i lost some points because i just got sick of the topic.

Probably not, and I don't care. But is this a major step towards making Wii games look just as good as some early 360 games? Yes.

You thought I was talking about Oblivion going to the Wii.I said the same thing as him, maybe not as organized and all you said was ''wii can't run 360 games'', ''it doesn't have enough room'', and stuff.i wasn't saying oblivion will be on the Wii someday, I don't care. I was asking in my thread if people would want Ninty to adopt an engine like this or another so third parties had an easier time porting higher end console games to the Wii.
Wii discs hold more if you count taking out the HD programming to add gameplay.
HAHAHAH and commodore 64 tape drives hold more than wii discs if you take out all the high resolution textures, sound and animation.OH OH OH WAIT! and punch cards hold more than tape drives if you take out all the unnecessary 2-bit data.therefore by your reasoning punch cards > dvds

Ownage approved.
If the engine has been ported to work on Wii then its safe to assume that all the features that the engine has will be available on Wii as well, unless it wouldn't be the oblivion engine.

Actually, it can. And where it can't. it can produce something of similar quality albeit in a different manner. :X
dont think of it as the oblivion engine, its the gamebryo engine!when youre trying to decide whether or not it would work on wii, ask yourself if you would be surprised to see Sid Meiers Pirates on Wii. Its the same engine, and I wouldnt be surprised at all if a stripped down version of pirates turned up on the wii. Im not sure if oblivion could be practically ported to the wii, but getting gamebryo up and running cant be that hard.the following also use gamebryo- freedom force- Morrowind- dark age of camelot- civ 4and theres more!
Its the same engine, and I wouldnt be surprised at all if a stripped down version of pirates turned up on the wii.
Stripped down?Pirates isn't a 360 game. I sure hope my Wii can run an XBox game and not a stripped down version of it.
Wii discs hold more if you count taking out the HD programming to add gameplay.
Well that's not true. It's not like there are certain HD resolution areas on a disk. The Xbox 360 system and TV do all of the work of making games display HD, this is why the 360 can make all regular Xbox games HD as well. For example when the Wii plays an N64 game it can display it in 480p or 480i, the Wii doesn't need to load certain files to make 480p happen it just needs to change how it sends a signal.
Is not going to happen.
it's true many people did misunderstand it but the engine could be used to make a similar style game byanother company...hopefully. Oo i know that pic.. max user ye? I know i am ^^
